MT940 transaction code NSTO: Standing Order
In MT940 statements and MT942 interim transaction reports, NSTO means Standing Order: transaction type N (non-SWIFT transfer) with identification code STO. The same code with type F, FSTO, marks a first advice.
Standing Order. Used in field 61, subfield 6, of MT 940 and MT 942 after transaction type N (non-SWIFT transfer) or F (first advice), so it appears as NSTO or FSTO.
How it appears in field 61
Field 61 (statement line) carries the value date, an optional entry date, the debit or credit mark (D, C, or RD and RC for reversals), an optional funds code, the amount, then the transaction type and identification code, the reference for the account owner and, optionally, two slashes followed by the bank's reference.
