Prefunding CLP payouts in Chile
Prefunding payouts in Chile means holding CLP with a payout partner or a local settlement account before transfers are paid, so recipients are paid without waiting for funds to arrive. Payouts run over TEF via CCA (Centro de Compensacion Automatizado) and CCA Batch service. There are 11 weekday bank closures in Chile in the next 12 months to fund around. Funding rules and timing in Chile
- Nium pays CLP in real time 24x7 only up to CLP 7,000,000; larger amounts settle same day subject to a 19:30 UTC cut-off, and on weekends and public holidays they settle the next business day. source
- CCA credits TEFs to beneficiaries 7x24, but interbank settlement is deferred: net positions settle in the Banco Central's LBTR at 11:00 for transfers made from 14:00 to 23:59 of the previous bank business day, and at 16:00 for transfers made from 00:00 to 13:59. source
- MCF spot USD/CLP trades normally settle (value date) one or two business days after the trade date, and the dolar observado is published from the previous business day's MCF transactions. source
- Since 19 April 2001 the Banco Central has not applied the exchange restrictions in articles 49 and 50 of its Organic Law; FX operations are subject to reporting and MCF requirements in the CNCI. source
