dLocal: balances, prefunding and reporting
dLocal is a Nasdaq-listed payments platform, operating in 44 countries as of 31 December 2025, that lets global companies collect and pay out in emerging markets, with payouts to bank accounts, wallets and USDC or USDT wallets. Senders fund a USD payout balance that each payout debits, and check it with GET /payouts/v3/balance, payout status webhooks, the Merchant Dashboard and daily or monthly payout reports by email or SFTP.

- A payout quote returns the FX rate, destination amount, fees, taxes and the total amount to be debited from the balance. source
- Payout notifications include an amount_details.debit object giving the amount and currency debited for the payout. source
- A payout request is rejected with error code 5014 (Insufficient funds) when the balance does not cover it. source
- Merchants elect settlement in their preferred currency, mainly US dollars and euros, with dLocal handling expatriation and repatriation of funds through partner financial institutions. source
