Why this matters for prefunding
When Chile banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
Highest-risk window: Thursday 31 Dec 2026 to Sunday 3 Jan 2027. Banks do not open to the public on 31 December (Ley 21.791) and 1 January is a holiday, so with the weekend LBTR is shut for four days in a row, four days after the Christmas closure (Friday 25 to Sunday 27 Dec). The last banking business day of 2026 is Wednesday 30 December. TEF en Linea keeps crediting accounts around the clock, but CCA net positions settle between banks in LBTR only on banking business days, so top-ups that move through LBTR must settle by 30 December. After New Year, no 2027 closure is longer than three days; Fiestas Patrias (Friday 17 to Sunday 19 September), Easter (Friday 26 to Sunday 28 March) and 31 December 2027 to 2 January 2028 are among about ten three-day closures. Regional holidays also apply in Arica y Parinacota (Monday 7 Jun 2027) and in Chillan and Chillan Viejo (Friday 20 Aug 2027).
