Why this matters for prefunding
When Peru banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
Highest-risk window: Holy Week 2027. Holy Thursday 25 and Good Friday 26 Mar join the weekend, so LBTR and deferred CCE transfers stop for four days (25 to 28 Mar). Late July is the next: Friday 23 Jul, then Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 Jul for Fiestas Patrias, and in 2026 the government added Monday 27 Jul as a public-sector non-working day (DS 075-2026-PCM). In December 2026, Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 Dec are back-to-back holidays. In November 2026 the Pope's visit brings non-working days in Lima and Callao (afternoons of 11 and 12 Nov, all of Monday 16 Nov) and in four northern regions (13 and 14 Nov); they count as business days for tax purposes and financial firms can keep staff working, and during the APEC non-working days of November 2024 Banco de la Nacion kept normal hours. CCE immediate transfers run 24/7 including holidays (Scotiabank caps them at S/30,000 or US$10,000 per transfer and pauses them from 15:30 to 16:05), so smaller PEN payouts continue; larger payments use LBTR or deferred CCE, which run on business days only.
