Why this matters for prefunding
When Brazil banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

FEBRABAN lists national bank holidays only; state and municipal holidays (for example in Sao Paulo or Rio) also close local branches and should be checked in FEBRABAN's municipal search. Under CMN Resolution 4.880 (cited by FEBRABAN) the listed holidays are not business days for financial market operations. FEBRABAN's 2027 list is not yet public on its page and, as returned by its data feed, omits the movable dates (Carnival, Good Friday, Corpus Christi); those 2027 dates are computed and unconfirmed. Pix is 24/7 per BCB, so BRL payouts can continue on holidays, but replenishing Pix settlement accounts from STR is only possible within STR hours, which is the real prefunding constraint over long weekends.
