Why this matters for prefunding
When Colombia banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

Colombia has 18 or more public holidays a year, and most of them move to Monday under Ley Emiliani, creating frequent three-day weekends where ACH Colombia and CUD are closed. Bre-B has run 24/7 since full launch on 6 October 2025, so COP instant payouts continue on holidays, but participants fund Bre-B positions through Banco de la Republica accounts, so prefund before long weekends. The new 9 July holiday (Ley 2578 of 2026) was confirmed via press coverage only. Banco de la Republica's website blocks automated access, so CUD hours were read through a fetch tool, and ACH Colombia cycle times come from a participant bank notice rather than ACH Colombia itself.
