Why this matters for prefunding
When Mexico banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

Mexico bank closures are set by the CNBV, not by the federal labour law list, so they differ from public holidays (for example 12 December is a bank-only closure, and 5 May was not a 2026 bank closure). The 2027 CNBV calendar is not yet published; all 2027 dates are expectations based on the 2026 rules and must be re-checked when the DOF publishes it (usually December). SPEI is 24/7/365 per Banxico, so MXN liquidity can move on bank holidays, but individual banks may slow non-SPEI processes, FX desks and branch cash. Banxico's dedicated holiday page could not be opened from this environment; the CNBV DOF text was used instead.
