Why this matters for prefunding
When Vietnam banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
Highest-risk window: Tet, Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 February 2027, when the civil service has seven days off in a row and the last working day before it is Wednesday 3 February. In 2026 commercial banks closed for Tet on the same days as the civil service (14 to 22 Feb 2026), served customers at the counter until 17:00 on the last working day and took ordinary interbank transfers only until 16:00. NAPAS 247 keeps running through Tet, weekends and holidays, but each transfer must be under VND 500 million, so larger payouts and top-ups wait for the interbank system to reopen on Thursday 11 February. Other multi-day closures: 1 to 3 January, 16 to 18 April, 30 April to 3 May and 2 to 5 September 2027. Vietnamese Culture Day is new: Tuesday 24 Nov 2026 is its first observance.
