Why this matters for prefunding

What to watch
Highest-risk window: Eid al-Adha, expected on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 May 2027, which joins the weekend for a four-day closure from Saturday 15 to Tuesday 18 May. August 2027 is the next densest stretch: Saturday 14 Aug, Mawlid on Sunday 15 and Monday 16 Aug (expected), then Friday 20 and Saturday 21 Aug. Eid al-Fitr is expected on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 Mar. Islamic dates are confirmed by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs only on the evening of the crescent sighting, and Morocco's dates can differ by a day from the Saudi Umm al-Qura calendar (Islamic New Year 2026 was one day later). Virement instantane runs 24/7 including holidays but is capped at 20,000 dirhams per transfer; larger amounts go through SIMT and SRBM, which settle in central bank money, so fund payout partners before each closure. Unity Day (31 October) is a paid holiday from 2026.
