Launching payments in Jordan: the stack
Paying out in Jordan means delivering Jordanian dinars, which the Central Bank of Jordan holds at a fixed 709 fils per US dollar, to bank accounts or JoMoPay e-wallets, and since a March 2025 CBJ circular, banks and payment providers on the CliQ instant payment system must offer payment of inbound cross-border transfers to beneficiaries through CliQ, which runs 24/7 up to JOD 10,000 per transaction. Cross-border payment companies typically reach Jordan through a payout network such as TerraPay, Thunes, dLocal or Nium, or a Jordanian bank or licensed e-wallet partner, and settle with that partner outside CliQ under a bilateral agreement, on a Sunday to Thursday banking week.
