Why this matters for prefunding
When China banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
China has no public holidays in November or December 2026. The 2027 statutory days follow from the National Holidays Measures, but the State Council's annual notice (published on 4 November 2025 for 2026) sets the actual closure windows: it turns weekend statutory days into make-up days off and makes some Saturdays and Sundays working days. In 2026 it made six weekend days working days (Sunday 4 January, Saturdays 14 and 28 February, Saturday 9 May, Sunday 20 September and Saturday 10 October) and ran a 9-day Spring Festival closure (15 to 23 February). Spring Festival 2027 falls on Saturday 6 February, so the make-up days push the closure beyond Monday 8 February. On those adjusted working days the HVPS and banks run as on a normal working day. The HVPS stops accepting public and corporate transfers over weekends and holidays (over National Day 2024 it was closed to outside business from 17:30 on 30 September to 20:30 on 7 October), while BEPS and IBPS run 24/7 with transfers up to CNY 1 million on IBPS during that holiday. CIPS runs on domestic holidays only when it announces service for overseas working days.
