Why this matters for prefunding
When Honduras banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
Highest-risk window: Holy Week 2027. Holy Thursday 25 to Holy Saturday 27 March are holidays and join Sunday for a four-day closure; in 2026 the public sector and the CNBS took the whole week off. The Semana Morazanica (expected Wednesday 6 to Saturday 9 October 2027) closed banks in 2026 from midday Wednesday to midday Saturday; the government and COHEP confirm the exact hours a few weeks ahead. Only Dia de las Americas moves to a Monday; 1 January, Holy Week, 1 May, 15 September and 25 December stay on their dates, so Labour Day and Christmas 2027 fall on Saturdays and add no weekday closure. November and December 2026 have only one holiday, Christmas Day. ACH PRONTO keeps exchanging transfers outside business hours, including weekends and holidays, while BCH-TR runs on business days only.
