Singapore bank holidays 2026 and 2027

By · Last updated

Singapore has 15 bank or public holidays listed here between November 2026 and December 2027. Over the year-end peak (1 December 2026 to 15 January 2027) the dates to plan around are: Fri 25 Dec 2026 (Christmas Day), Fri 1 Jan 2027 (New Year's Day).

Why this matters for prefunding

When Singapore banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch

All dates here are gazetted, including the 2027 list (gazetted on 18 June 2026), so there are no moon-sighting changes. A public holiday on a Sunday makes the Monday a holiday (Deepavali on 9 November 2026, Chinese New Year on 8 February 2027); a Saturday holiday gets no weekday replacement, so Chinese New Year day 1, Labour Day and Christmas 2027 add no weekday closure. The busiest stretch is May 2027, with Hari Raya Haji on Monday 17 May and Vesak Day on Thursday 20 May. MEPS+ runs on weekdays from 09:00 to 19:00 and stops on public holidays, so large SGD payments wait for the next business day; FAST and PayNow run 24/7, including holidays, up to S$200,000 per transaction, though some banks give transfers made on non-business days the next business day as value date.
