Why this matters for prefunding
When Ukraine banks or payment rails close, a top-up sent to a local payout partner may not land until the next business day. Remittance demand often rises around the same holidays. Fund the corridor before the closure, sized for the closed days plus your normal top-up lead time. Check your corridor runway.

What to watch
Ukraine has been under martial law since 24 February 2022, most recently extended from 31 October 2026 to 29 January 2027. While it lasts, Article 73 holidays are not days off and the rule that moves a holiday falling on a weekend to the next working day (Article 67) does not apply, so banks and payment systems work as normal on these dates. If martial law ends, the holidays become days off again and weekend holidays move to the next working day. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday. The NBU's SEP runs 24/7 including holidays, and SEP instant credit transfers (live since December 2024) settle within about 10 seconds. Around the year end the NBU publishes a separate SEP schedule: on 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026 SEP ran normally but did not accept messages to or from the State Treasury Service.
